Martin Hybler graduated in composition at the Prague Conservatory under Prof. Bohuslav Řehoř, where he simultaneously also studied conducting with Miroslav Košler and Miriam Němcová. In the years 1999—2009, he continued his studies of composition at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague in the composition class of Václav Riedlbauch and Ivan Kurz. He furthered his education through research fellowships abroad, namely at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg, and the ISA international composing classes in Mürzzuschlag, Austria.

He has written many opuses of contemporary music, including scores for solo instruments, chamber ensembles, and symphony orchestras. He is also a sought-after arranger for his stylistic versatility and feeling for the melodic line. He has arranged and instrumented compositions of the masters of classical music as well as pop and jazz (Miro Žbirka’s Symphonic Album, major orchestral suites such as Three Peanuts for Cinderella, Dracula, Karel Svoboda’s Night at Karlštejn).

At tonight’s concert, he will perform as a composer and pianist together with the evening’s distinguished guests—Kateřina Englichová and Vilém Veverka.

Tento koncert podpořilo Ministerstvo kultury ČR z grantového programu Rok české hudby/Smetana 200.
